MISSION

The Porchlight Foundation, Inc is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation created to partner with other non-profits to develop and build housing for those who would otherwise be homeless without intervention. We believe that housing is a virtuous cause—a moral and ethical endeavor that can provide for the fundamental human need of shelter in creative and life- enhancing ways.

WHO WE ARE

Porchlight leads a catalyst group of real estate and construction professionals who apply their unique skills to develop and build high-quality housing in partnership with non-profits who serve those who would otherwise be homeless without intervention.

WHAT WE DO

Porchlight believes that buildings and the spaces we live in influence our quality of life and state of mind. Porchlight communities are intimate, and executed with a high sensibility to wellness, light and space, thoughtful design and materials, and connection to the outdoors. The buildings include other amenities such as a private courtyard, wraparound communal porch, and most importantly, the professional guidance and support to make a successful transition into permanent, stable housing.

Plan it.

We employ the real estate development and construction capabilities of our professionals to bring a high level of expertise and accountability to the process of creating Porchlight communities. Each is designed to offer its residents safe, healthy, and comfortable living units with high ceilings filled with natural light, private outdoor terrace, open courtyard, and wraparound porch.

Build it.

Our strategy leverages the large-scaled buying power of a commercial development and contracting organization to maximize our cost efficiency and the impact of every dollar. After completion, a local non-profit partner who focuses on the full complement of services for residents manages and operates the facility.
